Manchester City have reached a ‘total agreement’ for the transfer of teenager Dario Sarmiento, reports in Argentina claim.
The Estudiantes winger, 17, has been linked with a move to City for some time, and now El Dia report that a deal has been done for an initial €6m.
City have already signed Partizan teenager Filip Stevanovic, who will join in January, and are now reportedly close to sealing the services of Argentinian under-16 international Sarmiento, who made his senior debut this season.
The report says the transfer will give Estudiantes 20 per cent of any profit City make on Sarmiento – or a further €6m if that sell-on-clause expires without him having moved on.
It is claimed Sarmiento will join the club in the summer when he turns 18, although it is likely he could be loaned out to one of City’s sister clubs in the City Football Group umbrella
Meanwhile, it is claimed that Lionel Messi is favouring a two-year contract extension at Barcelona after this summer, before a move to David Beckham’s MLS franchise Inter Miami.
However, before he decides on his future past this summer, it is reported that Messi will seriously consider offers from City and PSG, as they will both target the Argentine to lead their efforts to win the Champions League.
