Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has admitted that he never expected to score such a majestic goal against Fulham with his weaker foot.
Man United returned back to their place after seeing off Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
Lookman opened the scoring but Manchester United closed the scoring after Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba scored a goal each.
Cavani levelled the score line after Fulham’s goalkeeper poorly cleared Mason Greenwood’s effort and the tie was forced to settle in a 1-1 draw at half-time.
In the second half, Manchester United went ahead after Pogba’s outrageous strike beat Fulham’s Alphonse Areola in the 65th minute.
Paul Pogba on his goal, the France star told BT Sport: “I hit the ball well. I didn’t expect it with the left foot like this but if you don’t try, then you don’t score. It was a beautiful goal and beautiful win. It wasn’t my favourite goal ever but it was still beautiful.”
On Manchester United’s hard-earned 2-1 win at Fulham, the World Cup winner concurred the Cottagers pressed well but revealed United had just one target – to comeback from behind to win the game.
“It’s a big win because it was a hard game,| Paul Pogba continued. “We knew it would be difficult. They press really well and stay compact. We had to come back and we needed this win and we got it.
“I was really mad after the Liverpool game for not scoring the chance. I maybe should’ve done better but today it went in. Most important was the win today. We did it the hard way and did it the beautiful way.
“No [didn’t know about the Manchester City result], we just knew we had to get our result. I love winning, it’s all about winning. I’m happy when we win on the pitch and angry when we lose.
“It’s the Premier League so it will be always be hard. We have to do us and that’s it.”
Manchester United have returned back to the first spot following their hard-fought win at Fulham.
United are now unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League matches, winning 10 games and drawing 3.
Paul Pogba has now scored two match-winning goals after his volley won Manchester United the game at Burnley last Tuesday night.
