Manchester United take on Liverpool in the EPL this weekend at Anfield and if the Red Devils manage to pick up a win then they go six points clear at the top of the table.
Manchester United have won 11 of their last 12 away matches in the Premier League and their last defeat in the EPL came at the hands of Arsenal back in November. So even though Liverpool are the more well-drilled side but Solskjaer’s men have every chance of causing an upset on Sunday.
The Man United boss does have a few injuries to deal with but this should not affect his selection too much given that most of his regular starters will be fully fit by the start of the weekend.
Victor Lindelof is still recovering from his lower back injury but even if he’s fit and available, we doubt if Ole will choose him in the starting line-up.
Eric Bailly and Harry Maguire have been in fine form over the past few weeks and the pair should reprise their role at Anfield.
Luke Shaw has been preferred over Alex Telles at left-back during the big games and Sunday’s clash vs Liverpool will be no different. Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back.
Paul Pogba scored the only goal of the match during Man United’s win over Burnley in the EPL in midweek and the Frenchman is a guaranteed starter against Liverpool, alongside Bruno Fernandes.
Nemanja Matic picked up a groin injury against Burnley and at best, the Serbian will find a place on the bench as McTominay gets to play in central midfield alongside Fred.
But with Fred returning to the side, Pogba is likely to play a bit further up front much like he did against Manchester City in EFL Cup a few days ago.
Anthony Martial picked up a hamstring injury in midweek but as per the latest reports, the forward’s injury is not too serious and he should be fit in time to be available for selection against Liverpool.
If Martial cannot make it back in time then Solskjaer will use summer signing Edinson Cavani up front with Marcus Rashford playing possibly on the right wing.
