Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Brazilian youngster Gustavo Assuncao.
The 20-year-old, who captains Portuguese club Famalicao has played 46 games for Vila Nova since departing from Atletico Madrid to link up with the Primeira Liga outfit.
According to AS, Assuncao’s form for Famalicao have caught the attention of the Red Devils, who have been ‘carefully examining’ his form in the early stages of the 2020-21 season.
The report, though, suggests that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team could face stiff competition from both Everton and Wolves if they were to make a move.
Assuncao has a deal in Portugal until June 2025, however, it has been suggested that an offer in the region of €25m (£22.6m) in either January or next summer would be considered.
The holding midfielder is the son of ex-Porto and Atletico midfielder Paulo Assuncao.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are allegedly keen on bringing Velez Sarsfield sensation Thiago Almada to Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old attacker has netted 12 times and registered four assists in 50 matches for his current club, and a number of European teams are understood to be interested in his services.
Manchester City, Ajax and Valencia are thought to be admirers, but according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, United are also readying a swoop for the teenager in 2021.
