The Buenos Aires police are looking whether there was negligence in Maradona’s treatment but his personal doctor denies any wrongdoing.
Leopoldo Luque, Diego Maradona’s personal doctor, is under investigation in Argentina over the legendary player’s death, multiple sources report, including BBC.
The Buenos Aires police have searched both the house and private clinic as they’re trying to recreate Maradona’s final days and establish whether there was negligence in his treatment.
There are claims that Maradona should have had better treatment: “a 24-hour team of nurses ‘specialised in substance abuse’, the on-call presence of doctors and a stand-by ambulance equipped with a defibrillator”, as BBC put it.
In fact, there are doubts whether Diego was officially discharged from the hospital after his surgery on a blood clot on his brain on November 3 but he left regardless on November 11.
Dr Luque hasn’t been charged yet, denying any wrongdoing. He was keeping saying that he had done everything to save Diego’s life, admitting the legendary Argentine had been very sad before his passing.
Diego Maradona passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest on November 25.
