The Man United forward had a great chat with Sir Alex about his career, as well as off-the-pitch projects.
He’s happy to receive support from the legendary boss of his childhood club.
The only regret he has is that he probably won’t ever be able to play under Ferguson.
“For me it was an unbelievable experience [to talk to Sir Alex about Rashford’s projects and career] and I think, for me, that is probably the only regret I have ever had in my career – never having the chance to play under Sir Alex,” Marcus Rashford said, as quoted by the Mirror.
“It is something which will probably never going to happen now but to be on the phone to him and just have 10 or 15 minutes conversation with him was amazing and I am pleased he was aware of the situation and he wanted to help as well, so it was brilliant.
“Sir Alex has always, from the beginning really, backed me with what I am doing,” he added.
“Probably when other people in sports were telling me not to do it and just focus on football, he said if I believed in that, and I believe it is the right thing to do, then he is behind it. Those words from him are an amazing feeling to hear that.”
Back in November, Sir Alex got in touch with Marcus to thank him for the efforts to fight child poverty. Not only that, Ferguson has sent the forward a brilliant message after the latter won the Football Writers’ Associaltion Tribute Award.
