The Chelsea academy graduate does not stop to impress – long may it continue.
After benching Mason Mount for his first game in charge of Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel brought the 22-year-old back for the Burnley game – and most certainly, he was not disappointed.
The game on Sunday afternoon became Mason’s 50th start for the Blues – a huge achievement, especially since his first start was only last season.
Moreover, in this game, Mount joined an elite company of players who have created 50 or more chances in this Premier League campaign.
He’s only the fourth player on the list after Jack Grealish, Bruno Fernandes and Kevin de Bruyne.
Mount also made more tackles (4), attempted more shots (4) and created the second-most chances (3) during his shift against Burnley.
All in all, it’s a huge claim for him to be as important for Tuchel as he was for Frank Lampard.
