Here’s how our players performed vs Valencia.
Ronald Araujo — 8
Besides being Barcelona’s leader at the back, the Uruguayan was also useful upfront as he scored Barcelona’s second goal of the night with an amazing sideways bicycle kick.
Leo Messi — 8
The Argentine was again our most active player in attack, registering 10 shots and three key passes. Unfortunately, he didn’t have too much help in upfront and needed to do most of the work himself.
Frenkie de Jong — 7.5
The Dutchman was left on the bench out of precaution but he entered the pitch in the second half and did a great job, improving Barca’s attack. De Jong created several chances for his teammates but they couldn’t take advantage of them.
Antoine Griezmann — 5.5
Griezmann was very poor against Valencia as his attacking input was almost nonexistent. The Frenchman did win a penalty but he also missed a huge opportunity to put Barca ahead.
Martin Braithwaite — 5.5
The Dane was fairly useful in the second half when Ronald Koeman moved him to centre-forward. But in the first half, however, he was absolutely terrible on the left wing, registering practically no useful contribution.
Others: Ter Stegen — 6.5, Dest — 6, Mingueza — 6.5, Alba — 6.5, Busquets — 5.5, Pedri — 7, Coutinho — 6, Trincao — 6, Lenget — n/a, Pjanic — n/a.
