Here’s how our players performed vs Bilbao away.
- Leo Messi — 9
The Argentine was at his absolute best tonight, playing a big part in our build-up while also being active in finishing the chances we created. Messi scored two goals, managed a pre-assist and hit the woodwork twice. However, Leo gave away a goal late in the second half.
- Pedri — 8.5
Pedri was world-class again, it’s amazing to see him keep up the same level despite his age. The youngster was proactive upfront, scoring a goal and assisting one, while also putting a lot of work defensively.
- Ousmane Dembele — 7.5
The winger was a constant threat on the right flank in the first half, creating chances for his teammates and shooting on goal himself. Dembele’s pace and explosiveness are exactly what Barcelona missed last season.
- Antoine Griezmann — 7
The Frenchman was barely noticeable in the first half but he improved a bit as the game progressed. He did a lot of work defensively and ended up assisting Messi.
- Sergio Busquets — 6
Busquets is good in possession, yes, but he’s slow and that sometimes makes the Catalans vulnerable on counters. Sergio didn’t make too many mistakes vs Bilbao, but he didn’t offer much in build-up.
Others: Ter Stegen — 6.5, Dest — 6.5, Araujo — 7.5, Lenglet — 7, Alba — 7, De Jong — 8, Braithwaite — 6, Mingueza — 6.5
