Manchester United is apparently interested in free agent Dan-Axel Zagadou, a former Borussia Dortmund defender.
According to the French website Media Foot Marseille, the Red Devils have joined Inter Milan in their pursuit of the French center-back, with the club claiming to be very keen on signing him.
The 23-year-old had a difficult career in Germany due to various injuries, which limited him to only 15 Bundesliga appearances last season.
As a result, Dortmund declined to extend the youngster’s contract when it ended in June of this year.
Before his injury setbacks during the 2021/22 season, the Frenchman had joined the German side from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and had become the backbone of Dortmund’s defense.
Manchester United is looking to rebuild their team this season, and they have already signed Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, and Lisandro Martinez.
Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils’ manager, is known for his ability to develop top footballers, and Zagadou possesses that potential.
United have already signed a center-back this summer, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be interested in another.
Martinez, the club’s newest recruit, can also play as a defensive midfielder, a position that the Red Devils also lack.
