- The Brazilian decides to stay at PSG for one more season.
- His effort to offer his own money to finalize the deal was denied due to lack of time.
- However, he’s determined to sign for Barca next summer.
The Neymar saga seems to be finally off. For a while.
As claimed by RMC Sport, L’Equipe and Le Parisien, the Brazilian has already told his entourage that he stays at Paris Saint-Germain for one more season.
The sources confirm that Neymar made a last-minute attempt to involve in the negotiations and offer about €20m. However, his effort was rejected because of the lack of time to reach an agreement and complete the transfer.
As stated by Le Parisien, Neymar will make another try to sign for Barcelona next summer. However, PSG demands could still be as higher as this time: the Brazilian’s contract with the Parisians expires only in 2022.
Earlier, PSG allegedly urged Barca to make a payment of about €130m and include Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele (loan) and Jean-Clair Todibo in the deal. Now, as Neymar’s reported decision looks like a credible one, Rakitic’s exit may well be off as well. What concerns the French players, their entourage has been extremely confident of their stay at Barca, thus, the duo is likely to spend another season at Camp Nou as well.
