Tyrone Mings features on a shortlist of defenders that Manchester United have drawn up. The Red Devils are intent on strengthening their defensive line in the summer transfer window, with several other top centre-backs also on their radar.
Tyrone is one of the many success stories of footballers bred in the lower divisions of English football before they established their foothold in the PL. Mings started his professional career at Yale Town and represented Chippenham Town and Ipswich Town before reaching the PL with Bournemouth.
However, it is at Aston Villa where the 27-year-old defender has gone on to make his name, having been regarded as one of the best defenders in the PL at present. To date, Tyrone has turned out 75 times for the Midlands teams, for whom he is a defensive mainstay. His displays have caught the attention of the Red Devils.
In addition, Man United also have Raphael Varane in their sights, with Tyrone now being viewed as a potential target as well. In fact, the report claims that Mings features alongside Kounde, Varane and David Carmo on the Red Devils shortlist of defenders ahead of the summer.
It is not clear who among the four will become the priority target for the PL giants, but what does appear to be certain is that a defender is likely to arrive at Manchester United this summer. What now stays to be seen is if that one defender ends up being Tyrone, or if one of the other three defenders ends up joining the club instead.
