The Slovenian goalkeeper says that even the opponents think they are in control, Messi may appear out of nowhere to score as he did against Atletico last year.
He believes there’s no way to get past Leo if it’s his day.
“It is strange. Sometimes you think you are controlling [Barcelona], you are controlling him but in a second, he changes the game, he scores a goal, and Barcelona win,” Atletico Madrid’s goalkeeper Jan Oblak said in an interview Sky Sports on Lionel Messi.
Oblak added, referring to Barca’s 1-0 win at Wanda in the 1st half of the 2019-2020 campaign: “Sometimes you do not see him. Maybe you are thinking it is not dangerous, and then he scores. This happened to us last season. You need to be 100 per cent concentrated.”
The Slovenian concluded: “Even if you are at 100 per cent if he wants to score against you – he will. If he is on his day and in good shape, he has too much. Most of the time, you have to accept that it will depend on him.”
Oblak’s Atletico Madrid remains one of Messi’s favourite teams as Leo has scored 32 goals in 42 outings against the Madrid giants.
