Mohamed Salah has agreed to join Liverpool’s bitter rivals, Manchester United in an £80 million deal.
Not many players get to represent both Manchester United and Liverpool and it’s even harder to find one who swaps directly between the clubs. Mohamed Salah will now join that exclusive group after agreeing to join Man Utd in an £80 million deal.
In one of the most shocking transfers ever in Premier League history, Man Utd moved quickly to hand a £500k/week contract to Salah after Liverpool failed to meet his demands.
The deal was carried out in a manner so unlike Man United in recent years and after Salah agreed personal terms, United moved quickly to offer £80 million for a player whose contract expires in 2023, a very tempting offer which Liverpool couldn’t turn down.
Klopp said it was a very difficult decision but one that Liverpool must move on from quickly.
Klopp: “Salah was a great servant of the club, he gave his all, he won all the big trophies and individual awards bar the ballon d’or. It will be so hard to say goodbye in June but he will always be remembered at Liverpool.”
Rangnick said: “of course we know what type of player he is. I watched the game he scored a hattrick against us at Old Trafford in October and he was immense for Liverpool.
Everyone is aware of his talents and hopefully, the next manager will make him even better at Man United.”
Salah said: “I love Liverpool but when Man United came calling, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to represent the biggest club in England. My goal here is to win all the big trophies available and bring this club back to where it belongs.”
Salah will be confirmed new Man United player at the end of the season by which time he would have known which manager he’s going to be playing for. Whoever it is, you know Salah will be a big part of his plans.
