The Nigerian striker is set to return to Shanghai Shenhua at the end of the month.
Ighalo says that playing for United is a memory he will cherish for the rest of his life.
He also thanks Solskjaer for giving him the opportunity to impress.
Odion Ighalo wrote on Instagram: “It’s so hard to see this dream come to an end.
“But I give God the glory for helping me fulfil this life long dream of putting on a Manchester United shirt as a player and represent this great club, it was indeed an honour I will forever cherish and be grateful for.
“To the Manager, I say thank you for trusting and believing in me when many did not, to my amazing teammates I will miss you guys, it was always fun and a time I look forward to training and spending time with all of you. And I pray we win the LEAGUE and FA cup this year.
“To the best fans in the world ( the Manchester United fans ) we have missed you, but we hear your voices cheering us on from afar, we can’t wait to have you all back on the stands.
“I’m still and would remain a MANCHESTER UNITED FAN forever. Once a Red, always a Red. Thank you @manchesterunited and God bless.”

Ighalo arrived from Shanghai Shenhua on a six-month loan deal last January and his stint was extended till the end of January 2021 after putting in some impressive performances. While he hasn’t made many appearances this season, his dedication and top-class attitude have been praised all over.
The Nigerian striker has made 23 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 5 goals and registered 1 assist in his memorable short stint. His loan deal will expire at the end of January and he’ll return to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua next month.
