Italian club, Napoli, have rejected Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia’s huge attempt to lure Super Eagles’ striker, Victor Osimhen, to the Saudi Pro League.
According to reports in Europe, Al Hilal have tabled a €140 million (N118.9 billion) offer to Napoli with a €60 million per season salary for Osimhen.
French outlet, L’Equipe and UK’s Sky Sports report that the extraordinary proposal was put forward by the club in Saudi Arabia this month.
While others have already gone to the Saudi Pro League at the peak of their careers, including Karim Benzema, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Marcelo Brozovic, Osimhen has no intention of making that move yet.
Football-italia.net reports that Napoli are discussing a new contract extension for the Nigerian striker, noting that the Italian champions would have rejected the €140 million (N118.9b), even if it had come in from a top European side.
Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, recently said the club would not sell the player for less than €150million (N51.3b).
The salary reportedly offered from Al-Hilal to Osimhen would’ve been worth an extraordinary €60 million (N52.3b) per season. He is discussing a deal that would be worth €7million (N5.9b) per season, plus bonuses at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
