Ole has confirmed that he will rotate the squad for the FA Cup clash on Sunday.
Merson believes Bruno should be rested as he looks exhausted right now.
Speaking about which player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should rest in Man United’s game against Liverpool, former Arsenal man Paul Merson told StarSport: “Manchester United should rest Bruno Fernandes against Liverpool this weekend. He looks tired to me.
“He’s played every single game in the league and all those minutes start to add up after a while. For me, he doesn’t play in this game. United haven’t had a chance to win the league like this for a few years.
“They have to take this chance and prioritise the title race. The FA Cup just isn’t as important. It’s more important to keep him as fresh as possible for the league. He lifts them. They look to him to make things happen.”
Solskjaer confirmed that he will rotate his team around for the game, but will still field a decent enough team to give a tough fight to Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side have only won 1 out of their last 6 games (in all competitions), so United will definitely be fancying their chances to win irrespective of whatever lineup is fielded.
