Paul Pogba is increasingly likely to leave Manchester United in the summer, Sky in Germany claims.
The 26-year-old is a transfer target for his former club Juventus, as well as Real Madrid whose manager Zinedine Zidane is a well-known admirer of the fellow Frenchman’s talent.
Man United have a fraught relationship with the midfielder’s agent, Mino Raiola. The Italian-born Dutchman has reportedly vowed to never bring any of his clients to the club anymore. As for the Red Devils, they were delivered a blow when Raiola teamed up with Jesse Lingard.
Pogba was close to leaving United in the summer – he even said he wanted ‘to have a new challenge somewhere else’ – but no suitor could meet United’s asking price of £150m.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has recently brushed off questions about the World Cup winner, but he is almost certain to return to the negotiating table if Pogba is available in the summer.
Right now, Paul is recovering from another injury and will not be back until after the mid-season break in February.
The midfielder’s contract at the club runs out in 2021. The Red Devils have an option to extend it by another year. Nevertheless, The Times have recently reported about a growing feeling inside the United dressing room that the World Cup winner won’t be at the club next season.
