Speaking about which Leicester City player Man United should look to sign in the summer, Paul Scholes told Football Daily: “Leicester’s Wilfred [Ndidi] still very much fits the bill of what Man United are looking for.
“And with just two years remaining on his contract at Leicester, it’s likely to cost significantly less than the eye-watering sums associated with him in summer past.
“And while he missed the last two months of the season with a knee injury, he remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the game when fit, averaging an astounding 6.5 tackles and interceptions each match and ranking in the top seven percent of midfielders for aerial duels, too.”
United were linked with a move for Ndidi back in 2020 before they signed Donny van de Beek. The Leicester midfielder is recognized as one of the strongest defensive midfielder in the Premier League, maintaining impressive consistency in the last few seasons.
However, as they did in getting £80m for Harry Maguire, Leicester are likely to tout overly inflated transfer fee demands to sell their midfielder to United – which is why this move looks difficult to execute in the summer.
