“Neither my children nor my wife would have let me coach Barcelona. I knew Bartomeu very well because we took our children to the same school, but there was never an offer,” Mauricio Pochettino has told TV3.
“I don’t want to be demagogic, but Barca have so many options to find coaches that share the ideas of the club. I think I don’t have anything to do with the club’s ideas.”
Barca reportedly considered Pochettino as an option to replace Ernesto Valverde in 2020.

Back in 2018, Pochettino said he would never coach Barca because of his affiliation to Espanyol. He even said he’d rather work on a farm.
The Argentine both played for and coached our city rivals in the past.
Pochettino currently works at PSG. But after another mediocre season where he won only won the league title (not a big achievement for the Parisians), he might get replaced this summer.
