Ralf Rangnick’s very public war of words with Jesse Lingard has not sat well with the Manchester United squad amid a ‘fresh dressing room revolt’, reports Simon Mullock of the Daily Mirror.
A source is quoted to have said: “It isn’t the United way to voice these issues in the media.
“This is a time to stick together, not go public with things that might cause division.”
Lingard claimed the club told him to take a few days off after his failed transfer last month. However, Rangnick insisted that there was no reason to do that since United lacked outfield players on the bench against Middlesbrough.
Something similar happened with Anthony Martial before he left on loan to Sevilla in January.
The Daily Mirror understands that some senior members of the squad feel such sensitive issues should be dealt with in-house.
However, Rangnick prefers to be more upfront and honest while dealing with the media instead of sugar-coating things.
While the Daily Mirror isn’t the most reliable source, it’s worth noting that there’s no smoke without a fire. The Red Devils have already faced dressing room challenges this season and the latest report doesn’t do much to improve the current situation.
