Cavani has received a three-game ban for his comments on Instagram last month.
The Uruguayan says it’s an ‘uncomfortable moment’ for him to get banned for racism.
Cavani insists his heart is at peace knowing he didn’t mean any harm with his comments.
After getting banned for 3 games by the FA, Edinson Cavani wrote on Instagram: “I do not want to extend much in this uncomfortable moment.
“I want to share with you that I accept the disciplinary sanction knowing that I am foreign to English language customs, but I do not share the point of view.
“I apologise if I offended someone with an expression of affection towards a friend, nothing further in my intention. Those who know me know that my effort always seeks the simplest joy and friendship!
“I appreciate the countless expressions of support and affection. My heart is at peace because I know that I always expressed myself with affection according to my culture and way of life. I send you a sincere hug.”
Cavani will be suspended for United’s game against Aston Villa on Friday as well as the Carabao Cup semi-final against Man City and the FA Cup clash against Watford. Multiple experts have insisted that El Matador’s ‘Negrito’ comments were not racist, so it’s understandable why he’s frustrated with FA’s charge because of which he’ll miss the next few important games.
