Federico Valverde was a victim of a broken leg during Madrid’s 4:1 loss at the Mestalla.
Benzema gave Madrid a 23rd minute in the tie but Valencia came back roaring and scored four goals. Ironically, of the four goals, three were penalties with Carlos Soler scoring a penalty hattrick while one was an own goal from Varane who was poor not fir the first time in recent months.
Valverde played 76 minutes of that La Liga clash against Valencia at Mestalla on Sunday before being replaced by Toni Kroos.
After the game, Madrid released a statement on their official website which said;
“Following tests carried out on our player, Federico Valverde, by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a fracture in the posterior tibial bone in his right leg.
A fracture of such magnitude could potentially rule Valverde out for up to four months and regaining peak fitness could take him the whole of the season.
This means that it might only be until next season before Valverde plays at his best again. Madrid are sure going to miss him.
