Juan Martinez Munuera will be the referee for the second leg of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey semi-final clash against Real Madrid.
The Spanish Football Federation has confirmed him to be the one to take charge of the huge game, with Jose Luis Gonzalez Gonzalez to be on VAR duties.
Munuera has been in charge of two El Clasico fixtures in the past. The first one ended in a 3-1 loss for Barca in October 2020. But the recent most was Barca’s 4-0 win over Madrid last season.
The Spanish referee has officiated in 34 Barcelona matches in his career. In those, the Blaugrana have won on 22 occasions and lost four times.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have suffered seven losses in the 32 matches that Munuera has officiated in their games.
