Manchester United have been linked with Portuguese center back, Goncalo Inacio, in the past month or so and the latest reports are interesting.
Last month, Mirror Sport revealed that due to their close relations with Sporting CP, the Red Devils have the first option to hire the services of the 20-year-old player.
More recently, A Bola have covered a report (via Sport Witness) and claimed that Man Utd lead Premier League rivals to secure the signing of the young defender this summer.
The famous Portuguese media outlet have mentioned that the Old Trafford outfit have prepared a bid worth 45 million euros (£38.4million), 40 million euros in cash and 5 million euros in add-ons, to lure Inacio.
It is stated that the Lions are looking for a direct cash payment of £38.4million that would immediately activate the release clause.
In the 2020-21 campaign, Inacio featured in 20 Liga Nos fixtures for Sporting CP and helped the team keep no fewer than 12 clean sheets. Moreover, he set up the decisive goal that won the Allianz Cup.
Last season, the Primeira Liga giants only conceded 24 goals in the league and he helped them keep 15 clean sheets in 28 starts. This time, the youngster scored a goal vs rivals Benfica in the final of the Allianz Cup, Sporting won 2-1.
Inacio is yet to make his debut for the senior national side and perhaps a move to a big club like Man United would be beneficial for him.
