Lingard is currently impressing out on loan at West Ham.
Ferdinand believes the Englishman has no future at Man United.
Speaking on BT Sport, Rio Ferdinand said: “What’s Jesse Lingard’s ambition here, beyond this season, what is he looking to do?
“If West Ham don’t put a bid in to buy him at the end of this loan I think this loan has to be seen as a failure. That’s got to be his aim.
“To get a bid from West Ham and other clubs to take him out of Manchester United. Because I don’t see him going back to Man United.
“I don’t see him affecting the squad, I think they’ve moved past him with the players they’ve recruited, he doesn’t feature, hasn’t done for so long.”
Lingard has featured in just 3 cup games for the Red Devils this season before joining the Hammers on loan in the January transfer window. The Englishman appears to be to his best in London, impressing in the Premier League.
