Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona are interested in signing Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso.
The Spaniard is one of three or four options the Catalans have for the left-back position.
The 31-year-old’s contract with the Blues expires in 2023 so he might be available on a cut-price deal.
Alonso spent 11 years at Real Madrid. He joined their academy as an eight-year-old boy in 1999, made an appearance for the first team in 2010 and left the club the same year.
Curiously, his father, Marcos Alonso Pena, is one of quite few players who featured for both Barcelona and Madrid, spending five years with the Blaugrana. He also played for Atletico.
The Catalans have been linked with numerous Chelsea players. Andreas Christensen’s move to Camp Nou is all but confirmed and Azpilicueta could follow. Toni Rudiger was previously linked with a transfer to Barca but it looks like he’ll join Madrid.
