Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman reveals plans for star winger, Ousmane Dembele.
The new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has made it his top priority to get Ousmane Dembele back to his best. The Dutchman plans to focus on the winger a hundred percent and nurture the player back to his best, according to Sport.
The former Borussia Dortmund winger arrived at the Nou Camp for a staggering 103 million euro deal and given that heavy price tag for someone so young, the winger failed to deliver and live up to the hype. There are no doubts about how talented the Frenchman is. Be it the Nou Camp or the Signal Iduna Park, he has displayed his wonderful talent in an extremely positive way. Succumbing to injuries has led the player to this fall. Lack of games, missing out fixtures for months at a time has not helped the case of the French international.
However, the new Barca coach has although talked about offloading a ton of players, his take on Dembele was surprising. Koeman has reportedly vowed to bring the 23-year-old back to his best. The former Bundesliga winger is Barcelona’s second most expensive signing of all time and given that stature, he has failed to live up to the expectations of the club and its fans.
The former Southampton manager has made it his number one priority since arriving at the Nou Camp, to focus on the Frenchman. With the help of fitness coaches and physios, the Dutchman will be looking to put in all focus on the 23-year-old. Koeman has made it his goal to bring the young winger back to his best before time gets the better of him.
Given Dembele’s talent and potential, any manager would have taken an opportunity to work with talents like him and help them get back to their best. As for the coach, he must have a lot of trust and belief in the Frenchman. Given his ideologies of the game, Dembele fits perfectly into his system and that can be a huge potential partnership between the two, which will lead to some long-awaited success at The Nou Camp.
