Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed his plans for young winger Amad Diallo, with the Ivorian set to leave the club on loan before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Amad missed Manchester United’s pre-season preparations due to his involvement in this summer’s Olympics but returned to the club earlier this month with a new squad number, having given up the No19 shirt for new signing Raphael Varane.
The 19-year-old was scarcely used by Solskjaer last season after joining in January but made a lasting impression towards the end of the season with two impressive performances against Leicester and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Now, the Norwegian boss has confirmed that a loan is in the works but remained coy on where he would be going: “Yes I do [expect him to go out on loan]. It’s not 100 percent signed but we’ve agreed,” Solskjaer is quoted as saying by the official Manchester United website.
“I don’t have to say which team it is yet, but we’ve found a place that Amad feels excited about and we feel excited about.”
A temporary exit for Amad would see the former Atalanta player join Andreas Pereira, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Facundo Pellistri, and James Garner in taking on loan moves in search of regular football.
