- The Brazilian has scored two goals in seven games for the new team.
- It would cost Bayern €120m to make his stay permanent.
- Currently, the Bavarians’ most expensive signing is Lucas Hernandez who joined them this winter for €80m.
Philippe Coutinho has seemingly reinvented himself since his 8,5m loan move to Bayern Munich. The Brazilian has already scored twice and provided three assists in seven games for the new team.
And now it seems that Bayern are ready to break the bank for Coutinho, if Barcelona-based newspaper Diario Sport is to be trusted. According to the terms in the Coutinho deal, the Bavarians will have to pay Barca 120 million euros to make his stay permanent.
If Bayern agree on this valuation, they would break their own transfer record. Currently, Lucas Hernandez remains their most expensive signing. The Bavarians paid €80m for his services this winter when the Frenchman was at Atletico Madrid.
However, if Bayern don’t accept this huge transfer fee, Coutinho could move elsewhere. There are still a lot of clubs interested in his services, Diario Sport indicate.
That’s how Bayern’s head coach Nico Kovac assesses Coutinho’s recent displays: “Philippe has nothing to demonstrate. Sometimes it seems he’s dancing with them all, he knows exactly what to do, when, how and where the ball should go.”
