The transfer saga surrounding South American winger, Raphinha, has dragged on for far too long and it is not expected to end soon.
As per today’s version of Sport (press image provided below), the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal have made offers to sign the Brazilian star from Leeds United.
The Catalan news source claim that the Stamford Bridge club have even agreed a fee worth £60million with the Whites but the 25-year-old attacker is pushing to sign for Barcelona.
Raphinha is represented by retired Brazilian midfielder, Deco, who is responsible for stopping all the moves from the Premier League in order to ensure that his client ends up with the Nou Camp outfit.
It is stated that the offers put forward by the above-mentioned English sides exceed that of Barca in terms of both the fee of the transfer and the contract proposed to the player.
For the La Liga side, the major complication is that they aren’t financially strong and have other targets to complete as well. Sport report that the club’s sporting director, Alemany, is trying to lower the fee so that the signing can be completed.
On the other hand, Raphinha is also putting pressure on Leeds United. He does not care about any ultimatum and is not willing to negotiate with the Premier League clubs.
The Selecao winger has already agreed a five-year contract with Barcelona, who are looking sign him to replace Dembele. The Frenchman did not respond to Barca’s last offer and is now a free agent.
Man United do need to strengthen the attack having offloaded players like Lingard and Mata for free. Greenwood remains unavailable and Martial’s future is up in the air.
In your view, who should Ten Hag sign to reinforce the offense this summer?
