- United defeated Spurs 2-1 on Wednesday.
- Nicol believes Solskjaer had nothing to do with the win.
- As per the ESPN pundit, Tottenham are simply not good enough.
Steve Nicol is still not convinced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ability despite United beating Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham at Old Trafford.
Speaking on ESPN FC after the game, the former Liverpool man said: “Are we going to give Solskjaer credit for being in sixth position and playing well for 30 minutes? Are we really going to give him credit for that?
“Spurs are rotten, they’re not good. You want to try and give credit to Solskjaer. He gets a decent result after how long? Come on. We don’t know what we’re going to get from Solskjaer from one week to the next.
“They beat Tottenham who on paper are a good team but when it comes to getting the ball out they can’t string two passes together. No, Manchester United won a Premier League game against an average team who just happens to be called Spurs. I am not going to go overboard.”
United return to Premier League action with a trip to Manchester City on Saturday as Solskjaer looks to extend the Red Devils’ winning run.
