The La Liga chief says that he’d unite some of the biggest football stars in the league but it’s not that important.
What’s more essential is to have a strategy that allows one to succeed without such stars.
However, Tebas still hopes that Leo Messi will retire in Spain.
“I want Messi in La Liga, just as I want Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp, Cristiano,” La Liga president Javier Tebas has said at the World Football Summit.
“They all help you grow. It’s not essential. They’re not as important as people say. Neymar left. It’s necessary to have a strategy, a player can help you, but it’s not essential.
“I hope that Messi, who’s the best player ever, finishes his career here,” Tebas added.
Interestingly, bringing Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp to La Liga is said to be the ideas of Barca’s presidential candidates Joan Laporta and Jordi Farre. The latter even claimed that his team had already begun talks with Klopp to become the next Barca head coach.
As for Leo Messi, it’s still unknown whether he’ll continue to be a Barca player in 2021. The Argentine’s future is said to depend on who wins the election.
