Barcelona no.1 goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen awaits a strong comeback.
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre Stegen is back in training after spending quite some time out. However, he was not in the squad against Alaves.
Barca’s new manager Ronald Koeman has stated that Ter Stegen will be needing more training sessions in order to make a full return to the main squad. The German is now back in training however he did not start for the club’s La Liga clash against Alaves. Blaugrana failed to beat Alaves as they ended up sharing the points after a 1-1 draw, largely due to the mistake of second-choice goalkeeper, Neto.
The Dutch manager failed to provide a date for his return as he stated that he will be needing more time to be completely fit. Even if he has returned to training, it looks like he will be needing more time in order to completely be back in form.
It was previously mentioned that the German goalkeeper might be back for the El Clasico but that did not happen and Koeman’s squad went on to lose the tie. However, the goalkeeper might be back in the game against Atletico Madrid after the international break.
The goalkeeper went under a knee intervention as this injury did not seem serious. According to multiple reports, the goalkeeper played on with the injury. However, he is on his way back and in perfect recovery. Ter Stegen’s place is taken up by Neto who is a goalkeeper signed from fellow La Liga club Valencia. They had signed him for 30 million euros in the year 2019.
Ter Stegen is a huge part of this Barca side and he has a huge influence over the team as it has been proved before. His return will be a massive boost for the side as they do not look like they are at their best.
Will Ter Stegen’s return stop Neto’s chances of making any appearances, especially after his recent mistake?
