The Brazilian was the Ligue 1 club’s long-serving captain.
However, the club made no effort to keep him and even failed to plan a fitting farewell.
It was a pattern as the same thing happened with Edinson Cavani, Thiago claims.
“They never offered me a single thing; not even, ‘Thiago, do you accept €1 to stay with us?’ Absolutely nothing, which was very upsetting,” Thiago Silva told FourFourTwo about his last season with Paris Saint-Germain.
“There’s something worse than that, though. Even in the middle of a pandemic, they had three months to plan a farewell, but nothing was done.
“Man, I wasn’t there for only one season, or a few months – it was an eight-year spell as a captain who lifted a number of trophies at the club.
“I deserved much more respect than that. The same thing happened to [Edinson] Cavani.”
PSG’s loss is very much Chelsea’s gain as Thiago Silva has become a starting XI mainstay at Stamford Bridge and helped to improve the Blues’ defence.
He’s currently recovering from a thigh injury and will miss the Barnsley game in the FA Cup, but Tuchel hopes to bring him back for the Premier League match against Southampton on February 20.
