Chelsea made it two wins out of three in the Thomas Tuchel era on Thursday night when they defeated London rivals Spurs 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
Victory for the Blues saw them leapfrog their hosts and move up the table into sixth, just four points behind Liverpool in fourth place.
The Blues kept their third clean sheet in a row under Tuchel’s management, however, there was an injury blow that saw experienced Brazilian Thiago Silva taken off in the 36th minute.
There was some good news for Tuchel on the injury front with World Cup winner N’Golo Kante returning to the matchday squad and making an appearance off the bench in the 74th minute to shore up the Chelsea midfield.

Thiago Silva
The big injury news for Chelsea following the victory at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium was losing Thiago Silva in the first half.
The Brazilian expertly intercepted a Spurs through ball deny Tottenham the sniff of an equaliser but in doing so picked up a muscle injury.
The centre-back lay prone on the turf for some time before hobbling off not to return.
Speaking after the match, Chelsea manager Tuchel gave an update on Silva’s injury:
“It will be very tight for Sunday. It is only in two days but it is hard to give a diagnosis because I saw him only very quickly in the dressing room with a big strap around his muscle.
“We will have to wait until tomorrow so we can confirm it but I think for Sunday he is a big doubt and I don’t think that he can play,” said Tuchel.
Hakim Ziyech
Midfielder Hakim Ziyech was not involved in Chelsea’s victory over Burnley on the weekend but was deemed fit enough to make the substitutes bench on Thursday night.
The Moroccan was an unused substitute against Spurs but the fact that he was named in the matchday squad suggests he has returned to full fitness and will be available for selection against Sheffield United on Sunday.
Kai Havertz and Kurt Zouma
Midfielder Havertz and defender Zouma were both doubts ahead of the clash with Tottenham and neither was deemed fit enough to be included in the matchday squad.
Both men picked up ‘little issues’ in training ahead of the Spurs clash but will hopefully return to the team in time to face the Blades on Sunday evening.
