“Mason [Mount] was injured, in one of the very first scenes where he made a run to the far post with Azpi,” Thomas Tuchel said after the win in the Club World Cup final.
“They both fell and his opponent fell on his ankle and he hurt his ligaments badly, so we have to see.
“He came straight to me and said he does not feel good, it felt painful.”
Mount left the stadium on crutches, with a bandage and strapping on his right foot.
The 22-year-old is now set for a scan upon return to London. It’s not clear how serious his injury might be.
