Messi finished 3rd in FIFA ‘The Best’ ranking.
The Barca captain shouldn’t have been included in the top-3 in the first place, according to the Real Madrid midfielder.
“Lewandowski deserves it, absolutely,” Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos said of this year’s FIFA The Best award, as quoted by AS.
“But for me, Messi does not belong in the top three. I don’t think he did well this year.”
The Barcelona captain finished 3rd in FIFA ‘The Best’ ranking in 2020. Strangely enough, Kroos didn’t say anything about his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo who finished 2nd despite registering 14 goal involvements fewer than Messi in the 2019/20 season.
As for Lewandowski, there’s no need to argue that the Pole deserved the Player of the Season prize after winning the treble with Bayern Munich last term.
