Barcelona have missed out on the Super Cup final after a roller coaster of a game against Atletico Madrid.

According to Joan Maria Pou, a journalist with strong ties to Barcelona, Ernesto Valverde is ‘in a delicate situation’ after the semifinal loss.

“The board doesn’t have a unanimous opinion on Valverde. The manager is in a delicate situation. Not only because of today’s game, little things begin adding up which make the situation more complicated. The board of directors will meet on Monday, pay attention.

“Has Barca been better than Atletico Madrid? Yes, but they have written down two goals that the team took for granted and this knocked them off and brought Atletico Madrid to life. Barca didn’t deserve to lose, but they have made mistakes.”
