The Real Madrid hard man and penalty specialist missed two penalties in Spain’s nations league game against Switzerland in Basel.
The first penalty was awarded to Spain after Ramos rose to head at goal from a corner from Olmo and his header was blocked by the outstretched arm of Rodriguez. The referee pointed to the spot, although the decision appeared harsh on the Switzerland defender.
The Switzerland keeper, though, read Ramos and got down low to his right to palm his low strike behind for a corner. A super stop it was.
Then La Roja were awarded their second penalty of the game as Elvedi brought down Morata in the box.
Up stepped Ramos again, the Spain skipper missed for the second time of the game. He tried to be too clever with a staggered run-up, went the same way as his first strike, but the effort was tame once again. Sommer got down to make a comfortable stop.
