Manchester United were heading for a defeat against Southampton but two of their star players stepped up to seal three points for the Red Devils.
Two expertly taken set pieces from James Ward-Prowse gave Southamton a 2-hoal cushion in the first half. And it never looked like they’d relinquish it.
But the introduction of Edinson Cavani at halftime changed everything. He supplied Bruno Fernandes with a precise pass which he turned home before scoring two exquisite headers himself – one a 90th minute winner.
It was his first, though, that drew a priceless reaction from Fernandes. After the Uruguayan dived in on the deflected shot from Fernandes, he wheeled away in celebration alongside a few team-mates, but at that very moment, Fernandes whose shot was deflected to Cavani was urging his teammates to come on and let the game restart quickly.
