Farre hopes to offer a life project to the Blaugrana captain in order to make him stay.
He reveals he’s already contacted Leo’s entourage.
“Messi has to be offered a life project. We have to turn Messi into Barca’s Michael Jordan,” presidential candidate Jordi Farre told Esport3.
Farre added that the first steps were already made: “We have spoken with Messi’s environment. We have a proposal. The offer is not economic.
“Leo has already made a lot of money. It is a love story. I am sure I have a project that will convince Messi.”
Leo has a contract until 2021 which makes him available for the first talks with other clubs in January.
As for Michael Jordan, he was one of the greatest basketball players, spending more than 10 years with the Chicago Bulls.
Farre may want to re-think his comparisons though: Jordan did not retire as a Bull, playing his last two seasons with the Washington Wizards. He then proceeded to own a different NBA club, the Charlotte Hornets.
Not what we have in mind for Leo, you’d have to think.
