“I feel bad about the decision [to leave Dani Alves out of the Europa League squad]. Whichever you take is a tough decision,” Xavi has told the media.
“In the end, we chose Dani because we believe that we have that position [right-back] better occupied. Dani gives us a lot and he is going to give us, I was unfair,” the Barca boss added.
Xavi was allowed to register 3 new players for the Europa League knockouts. He went for Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, excluding the 38-year-old.
Sergino Dest, Oscar Mingueza and Adama Traore could play as right wing-backs in the Europa League.
