“James [Rodriguez] is capable of scoring tremendous goals from short and long distances, he has a privileged left foot,” Xavi said on La Liga Kings of World series.
“It is a pity that he played for Real Madrid and not for Barcelona,” Xavi adds.
Real Madrid paid €75m to sign James from Monaco in 2014 just after he had a fantastic World Cup with Colombia that summer.
The attacking midfielder excelled briefly in Spain scoring 37 goals and 47 assists in 125 games before leaving the Santiago Bernabeu. Barca didn’t show any serious interest in the player.
Now 31, Rodriguez currently plays for Olympiacos in Greece.
