Ziyech says he started with an injury and got an another one soon after.
The 27-year-old feels the pace of the game in England is much quicker than Ajax.
He’s also adjusting to living in England without his family and driving on the opposite side of the road.
Ziyech states he always has faith in himself.
“It has been a difficult first six months for me at Chelsea,” Hakim Ziyech told Ziggo Sport.
“I began with an injury, came back and then got injured again. Things have not gone as I had hoped. The pace of the game over here is much quicker than it was at Ajax. I picked that up straight away, and then I got injured in my first training game.
“That sets you back completely and then it happens again. It was bloody annoying.
“I am used to having my friends, and my mum, around me. Being without them has taken some getting used to, and of course the lockdown has made matters worse.”
“On top of that, I’ve had to learn how to drive on the other side of the road. I’ve not had any accidents, but it was very difficult at the start.
“I always have faith in myself. I know what I can do, and I won’t put pressure on myself.
“You’ve not seen the real Ziyech yet. But don’t worry, he’s on his way!”
Adjusting to a new country during a pandemic (with multiple lockdowns) is difficult on any player – a transition further troubled by injuries.
Ziyech has shown over the years and in a short while at Chelsea the quality he possesses, especially on his left peg, and will surely come good very soon.
The winger has not played a single minute in the last 3 games under Thomas Tuchel.
