Ziyech says that its not the first time he’s been benched by a new trainer.
The winger feels we must wait and see what system Tuchel wants to employ.
The position doesn’t really matter to Ziyech, as long as he plays.
“You know that can happen if the results are not good. It is also not the first time that it happens to me that the trainer is fired, so I know how to deal with that,” Hakim Ziyech told Ziggo Sport.
“We will have to wait and see what kind of system he [Tuchel] wants to play in. We have already played twice with three defenders and I was a second ten.
“But as you know: whether I play on the right or in the centre, that doesn’t really matter to me. As long as I play. That is the most important.”
After starting the first game under Tuchel against Wolves, the Moroccan winger has not played a single minute since then.
Understandably, Tuchel is still figuring out the dynamics of his squad and we can expect the German’s ideal starting XI to shape up in a few weeks.
