Apple introduces bilingual Siri the first public beta versions of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS Sonoma on Wednesday. With these versions, the company added new features such as full-page screenshots, two-language Siri, and better SMS sorting for users with two SIM cards.
The Cupertino-based company has added support for translation questions to Siri, starting with a few Indic languages. This means that users will be able to ask questions of Siri in both English and Hindi. Also, users can mix English with Telegu, Punjabi, Kannada, or Marathi. Apple is late to the game, as Google Assistant got international support in 2018 and Amazon did the same in 2019. This is especially helpful for people in India, who speak a variety of languages in their daily talks.
Apple is also adding a full-page image feature to iOS 17. “Scrolling screenshots” have been available on Android phones for years now. Users can save this as a picture or as a PDF file.
