Meta announced on Tuesday that it launches the web version of its new text-first social media network, Threads. This move was made in an effort to keep professional users and gain an advantage against competitor X, which was once known as Twitter.
According to the statement made by the owner of Facebook and Instagram, Threads, users would have access to the microblogging network by logging in to its website from their personal computers.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, stated in a post on Threads that the web version would be made available to users “over the next few days.”

Threads had a fall in popularity after reaching the milestone of 100 million sign-ups for the app within five days of its launch on July 5. This occurred as users reverted to the platform X that they were more accustomed to using following the first surge.
According to a report published by analytics platform Similarweb on August 10, the number of daily active users on the Android version of the Threads app has decreased to 10.3 million from a peak of 49.3 million in just over a month.
