OpenAI Delays Custom GPT in accordance with an internal memo that was viewed by Reuters on Friday, the ChatGPT manufacturer OpenAI has decided to postpone the debut of its bespoke GPT store until the beginning of 2024.
OpenAI initially presented the custom GPTs and store during its first developer conference, which took place in November. Both of these features were scheduled to be released later that same month.
In the message, it was said that the corporation is continuing to “make improvements” to GPTs based on the input received from customers.
The delay occurs against the backdrop of the startup company’s unexpected dismissal of its CEO, Sam Altman, and his subsequent reinstatement as a result of threats made by employees to resign from their positions.
GPTs are early versions of artificial intelligence assistants that carry out tasks that are relevant to the real world, such as booking flights on behalf of a user. Additionally, it is anticipated that users will be able to share their GPTs and receive money based on the number of others who share them.

According to a private internal memo discovered by Reuters on Friday, ChatGPT pioneer OpenAI will delay the launch of its proprietary GPT store until early 2024. This delay contradicts OpenAI’s November developer conference announcement that bespoke GPTs and the store would be released later that month.
OpenAI’s dedication to improving GPTs based on user feedback prompted the postponement. This shows effort to perfecting the technology before making it available through the special GPT shop.
This temporary setback comes after OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, was unexpectedly fired. Altman’s return followed staff resignation threats, adding drama to the company’s internal dynamics.
GPTs, advanced AI assistants, can book flights for consumers. The custom GPT store will also offer personalized AI experiences and allow customers to share their own GPT versions. In an innovative twist, users may receive financial benefits based on the popularity and usage of their personalized GPTs, adding a dynamic and participatory element to artificial intelligence.
