Humane, a startup company that was created by former employees of Apple Inc. and has already secured $100 million in funding this year, as announced on Friday qualcomm chips will power Humane in its upcoming wearable device.
Humane announced on Friday that a new accessory will be given the name “Ai Pin.” However, the company has not provided a release date or many other specifics about the product. Imran Chaudhri, co-founder and President of Humane, gave a presentation earlier this year in which he presented the Ai Pin.
The Ai Pin is an internet-connected gadget that is worn like a lapel pin and can answer spoken queries as well as project information on the user’s hand when the hand is held in front of the device.
In Chaudhri’s demonstration, Humane took a stand against Apple’s Vision Pro mixed-reality headset by stating that “the future is not on your face.” Chaudhri made this statement while demonstrating the product. Additionally, a trademark application for that phrase has been submitted by Humane.

Because it does not have a conventional screen or keyboard, the Ai Pin interacts with its users through natural speech by largely relying on artificial intelligence.
Microsoft Corporation is one among the numerous investors in Humane, and so is Sam Altman, the chief executive officer of OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT. OpenAI will provide Humane with artificial intelligence technology, and Humane will provide OpenAI with cloud computing services.
Qualcomm chips will power Humane as it provide further details on which Qualcomm chips the Ai Pin will use; however, Dev Singh, vice president of business development at Qualcomm, stated that the offerings would come from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon family of chips. Depending on the configuration, the Snapdragon family of chips can power devices ranging from smartphones to mixed-reality headsets. Humane and Qualcomm have not yet commented on the possibility of a partnership between the two companies.
